Today in the Glenbrae school hall. Niva retimanu came to talk about her career as broadcaster. She was raised by Samoan Parents. Her family lives in invercargill. It is very cold there and it even snows how cool is that.

She also works at the NZ radio station she talk to us about reading in school and achieving our goals in school. She's like a role model to younger children, she helps them to learn more.

Niva is so famous she works at the number 1 radio station.

Kayaking

On the 23th of August 2017 Glenbrae School. Year 7 & 8 went kayaking at Kororareka Beach, near Russell. This was one of the activists. For the Glenbrae School camp.

We came with sarah in her car it was a sweet old ride. When we got there we had to get in our swimming togs after we went to the sand or rocky beach  to pick our own kayak.

After we picked it we had to learn some rules. After we had to get a partner and lift it up next to the sea. I was with alfred we were like the only wons lifting them up and some of them were still struggling to hold it. When all the boats were inside the sea we had to sail anywhere to get control of it.

When I got control of it I was getting good at it. The other kids were good at it they were good at turning the kayak going straight with the kayak and when we all knew how to get control of the kayak.We went for a ride on the corner of the beach it was tiring when we went back we played a game we had to ruff up and the person has to run across the kayaks and make it to the end and that was fun because I was spending time with my non member friends thank you. :)

                      

Maori Bread

Maori Bread

On Wednesday my group made Maori bread. I haven't made a Maori or eat Maori bread. When we made it. It was pretty simple, the  First step was to put  5x cups of Flour in a bowl  and 600 mil of milk the mix then put 5 cups of baking powder then mix it onto it looks like a pancake. The we walked to the kitchen to put it in the oven. We had to wait for 30 minutes.

When it was ready it looked yuck but when we eat it with the butter  it was so yummy and delicious we gave some to the people who made french toast and they said it was so good.

1.   For the Batter.

• 2 cups flour
• 2 tablespoons yeast
• 1 cup warm water

2. For the Dough.

• 8 cups flour
• 3 cups water
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 1 teaspoon salt

Today in the morning we go technology every Friday we walk to TC. I woke up at 6 and walked to the courts with Stephen and we played b ball when it was 8 we walked to teach when we got there we went in side our class and we were building cars and trucks when we finished the girls were cleaning the floor and we had to set on the table we walked back to school we our teachers when we got there it was morning tea and I had fun at teach. Science Intensive

Science Intensive / Room 7Last week we had Science Intensive and we started off in our class. Our topic is house insulation. We had the opportunity to make our own house using different things like Lego, cardboard, paper, and sumo paint. Science Intensive / Room 8Room 8 we learned about the 3 states of matters. Liquid, solid, and gas. After we made Chocolate and we had to wait until it was completely dry then we could eat it, but when we were eating it there was nothing left for Loto.                               Science Intensive / 9Room 7 went to room 9 to have science Intensive the next day. We learnt about earthquakes. We had to build a house that could hold a bag of sand and we were split into 5 groups me and my group built a very funny house when we finished Mrs Sigamoney came to our house when she dropped it our house broke down but we knew we won.                                      Science Intensive / 10Today we learnt about Fire Safety and Fire Hazards. We had to pick a partner to work with and  I picked Salesi. We worked hard and fast and we got through it. We had to make a poster and we made an amazing one and we finished all of our work Thank you.

Today most of our class went to Tamaki college and the year 7s and some of year 8s stayed at school. I came late to school because my little brother was to lazy to get up. When I came to school there were small amount of people left. We started to learn about something we are interested in and to make a presentation.I wrote about play stations. When I finished we had to perform in front of the class. I was the first one to get picked when i finished i went and sat down and listened to the others. This is my presentation so far.

Today we had touch in the morning Mrs bob toke to long so we were late the first thing we did was run and pick up the ball and roll it under our feet and the next person comes and do it again the next step was pick the ball step to the left after that we played a game called touch and pass the ball then we had no more time to play more games.

Joying

Today I enjoyed the holidays, the past 2 weeks on Monday I wake up early sometimes I go and have a run when I came back I clean the house and wash the dishes I turn the music on so I can enjoy and clean. My brother helps a little bit but my sister she helps a lot when.

We finish cleaning I go for a shower when I got out I got changed and my mum said put some good clothes on because we a going to the movies to watch something. When we left the house i was happy but when we got there all the tickets were sold and and i was not impressed, but when the man said there were more tickets in the box, he gave it to us and i was very happy.

When we finished watching the movie we went to have a dinner at the burger King after that i was full. Later on we went to my brothers house and my little nephew was very happy to see me.

My sister in law said can you put him to sleep because he likes watching us playing the game, when he laid down he was falling to sleep and I enjoyed playing the game with my family.

Today after morning tea we went to the hall for Duffy assembly. This Duffy Assembly was so fun because they were funny and cool

Kiwi Can

Today my class went to kiwi Can the first thing we did was get in to four lines after that he said what is the theme today and we said resilience after we played limbo my team was luisa and mateaki,amiliya.

after that we got in to a circle and played GKQ it was me and the 3 boys stand up and Mr A said the Answer when we all finished playing we lien up outside we walked to the courts and played a game And we came back inside.

Netball

In the morning for Kiwi-Sports we went on the courts for net ball.The first game we played was Shadow follower.

After that game we played a game of defend the ball,where you had to intercept the ball,when they have to pass it to each other,my partner was Moses we were passing it to each other and Levi and Lio had to try and intercept the ball.

After that game we got into for corner's,we got four balls and started passing it to each other,Lio was the one trying to intercept the ball.
