Malama Honua Event
On Wednesday 25th March 2015 Glenbrae Senior went to Point England to see the 2 waka called Hourua Hokule’a and Hikianalia that traveled all the way from Hawaii. There were 12 schools and over 2000 students there.
Next the school leaders did the haka and then everyone sang a song to welcome them. A few Kaumatuas welcomed the crew with speeches and exchange of gifts.
Finally, when the welcome ceremony was over, we wentdown to the beach to hi five them and introduce ourselves. Then we walked back to school. We were realy tired when we got back to school.
